CURRICULUM We offer a developmental approach to our children's education. We focus on the areas of social, physical, emotional and cognitive development. During the typical day at Maple Street your child may participate in various areas such as: Art/Writing: Correct use of art material, pens, markers, paint, glue, tape. Small muscle development, eye-hand coordination, introduction to written symbols is also done in this area. Science/Math: Develop curiosity of the world around us; opportunities to explore, investigate, and experiment with various materials; learn counting & sorting skills; care for and nurture living creatures. Blocks and Transportation: Introduction to sizes and spatial relations, cooperation & planning among peers, satisfaction with completed project; develop small muscle control. Music and Movement: Enjoyment music and rhythm. Following the directions and listening skills use of different musical instruments and body movements. Dramatic Play: The opportunity to dress up, cook, clean, tend to baby and mom/dad, a grocery clerk or a veterinarian for a while. IT MAY LOOK LIKE PLAY BUT WE ARE LEARNING!!!!
